Continuing MJD’s culture of creating award winning work, we are thrilled to have been honored with four W3 Awards for projects for the Grammys, Stride Rite, and Falken tire.

Our work for the Grammys pulled in two awards, a Gold for Mobile Apps in Entertainment, and a Silver for Mobile Apps in Music & Audio. The Grammys hired MJD last year to completely revamp their iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Android Apps, and we are at it again this year, so stay tuned for what we hope is another award winning launch!

The Ritefit app for Stride Rite brought revolutionarily accurate, and fun foot sizing for children’s shoes. Patented algorithms that control the iPad’s camera get measurements within 1 millimeter, and combine with a whimsical UI, games, a virtual dressing room, and the ability to buy shoes within the app. For this  we were awarded a Silver in the Mobile Features Category for Best Use of a Mobile Camera.

Finally, we scored our third award over as many years for our work on the Falken Tire website. The site received a Silver for General Website, Automotive. One of our longest standing clients, we are grateful for the recognition of constantly innovating the design, content and development of one of the best sites in the automotive space.

“We were amazed at the caliber and quality of work we received this year from the smallest agencies to the biggest firms worldwide. As the Web and Mobile continues to expand in new and exciting ways, our winners continue to truly push the envelope of Internet creativity and web design.” said Linda Day, the director of the IAVA. “On behalf of the 600+ members of The Academy Interactive and Visual Arts, we are honored to recognize our winners as they continue to set a high standard of excellence for Web and Mobile development.”

The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the people behind award winning sites, marketing programs, social content, mobile site/apps and online video. In honoring the best of the Web, the W³ Awards is the first major web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies. In its tenth year the W³ Awards received over 5,000 entries from Ad agencies, Public Relations Firms, Interactive Agencies, In-house creative professionals, Web Designers, Graphic Designers and Web Enthusiasts.
